WHAT IS LIMITED ORTHO?
Limited orthodontics is designed for patients who do not need dramatic changes, but need some tuning up. If your problem teeth are the front and center teeth primarily, you can improve their appearance without having extensive orthodontic measures. Limited ortho utilizes clear customized aligners that are changed every two weeks to gently move the teeth to the proper position. The success of limited ortho hinges on the patient’s commitment. Since you can pop them in and out, you have to choose to put them back in as recommended. The clear aligners are discreet and gentle as they move your teeth to improve your smile. You can transform the aesthetics of your smile without having to get metal braces with all the brackets and wires. Limited ortho is ideal for patients who want to reach their ideal smile subtly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How Do I Know if Limited Ortho is Right For Me?
The best way to know if you are a good candidate is to schedule a consultation with us. We can examine your teeth and let you know if you can achieve the results you are looking for using the clear aligners.
How Long Do I Have to Wear the Aligners Each Day?
Basically, you should be wearing them 20-22 hours a day, which includes sleeping at night. Eating and drinking are the only times you need to remove them. You can leave them in and drink cool water though.
Are There Food Restrictions While I am Using the Aligners?
No, you can eat what you like as long as you remove your aligners first. You can drink cool water while wearing your aligners. Infused or sweetened water is not safe for your aligners, so remove them before drinking that as well.
How Long Will My Transformation Process Take?
The timeline will depend on the changes you need and your commitment to the process. If you wear your aligners for the prescribed time each day, you will reach your results more quickly. On average, most people achieve their results eight months faster than they would have with traditional braces. The best way to predict your timeline would be to schedule a consultation.
Can I Clean my Aligners With My Toothbrush and Toothpaste?
Although you need to brush your teeth with those before putting in your aligners, the aligners could get scratched using those tools on them directly. We recommend using a product called Retainer Brite. The cleaning process is quick, so you do not need to plan for a lot of maintenance and upkeep on your aligners.
Will My Dental Insurance Cover the Cost?
Every insurance company varies, but many dental insurance policies cover limited ortho in the same way they would traditional braces. If your insurance does not cover the aligners, you may be able to use your FSA or HSA. Also, monthly payment plans could be an option as well.
If I Currently Have Traditional Braces, Could I Change to Limited Ortho Instead?
You may be able to make that change. We would be happy to consult with you about the possibilities.
